Gina Femia is a Brooklyn based playwright, director and performer. Writing credits include In the Land of Giants at the Williamstown Theatre Festival (dir. Megan Kosmoski), Fly Balls, which was a finalist in the Time to Strike! Festival (dir. Sarah Simmons), workshops of The Old Man in the Woods at Sarah Lawrence College (dir. Tamara Winters), Starlight at TheatreLab (which she also directed) and Pieces of Penelope at DanceWave (dir. Jeanette Plourde). Readings include The Old Man in the Woods at the Kraine Theater, A Line That Doesn’t Even Exist as a part of Looking Glass Theater’s Fugly Reading Series, and Inverted Rainbow as a part of Sarah Lawrence College’s First Look Reading Series. Recently, Gina worked with New Georges as a playwright participant in their Perform-a-Thon, creating stopDeath (dir. Lily Whitsitt). Her solo show, Happily Never Ever, will be performed at the Sola Voce Estrogenius festival in the fall (dir. Tiffany Soares). She received a BFA in Dramatic Writing from SUNY Purchase and an MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College, where she was a recipient of the Lipkin Award in playwriting.
